Abstract The importance of communication cannot be over emphasized as it serves as one of the simplest and easiest means of communication. This work focused on determination of safety distance for installing Global System for Mobile Communication in residential areas. ANFIS model techniques was used to predict the power density measured from the GSM mast at different distance from 10m – 50m at an interval of 5m. From the result of the prediction, the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) was found to be 10.88% with model efficiency validatedas89.12%. Specific absorption rate (SAR) was obtained as 1.05x10-4 W/Kg
